Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 17, 2026
This privacy policy describes what the OVERD0SE browser portal (over-dose.org) does and does not collect when you visit it. The short version: the portal does not collect first-party analytics, does not set first-party tracking cookies, and does not log your playthrough. There is more to say about what runs on the page, so the full version is below.
1. Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not run any first-party analytics, beacons, or session recorders.
- We do not set any first-party cookies.
- We do not log your IP address, your playthrough state, or your ending choices on any server.
- We do not sell, rent, or share anything about you - because we do not have anything about you.
2. Data Stored Locally In Your Browser
The only persistent data this site stores is your endings tracker progress, kept in localStorage on your own device under the key overdose_endings_v1. It is a small JSON object that records which endings you have marked as unlocked. It is never sent to any server. You can clear it at any time by clicking Reset Progress in the Endings Tracker, or by clearing your browser's site data for over-dose.org.
3. Third-Party Requests The Page Makes
The page itself is static and served from Cloudflare Pages, but it loads a small number of third-party resources when you visit. Here is what is loaded, by whom, and why:
- Google Fonts CSS and font files (fonts.googleapis.com, fonts.gstatic.com) - used to display the serif body and display fonts. Google may log the request against your IP, see Google's privacy policy.
- Adsterra native banner (served from beavercolourfuldelinquent.com) - a single sponsored slot between the player and the story card. The script is loaded with
asyncso it never blocks the page. Adsterra may set their own cookies or use their own identifiers; see Adsterra's privacy policy for details. - The Ren'Py web build (s.over-dose.org) - the playable game itself, loaded into an embedded iframe only after you press Play. Whatever data that endpoint collects is governed by the operator of
s.over-dose.org, not by this portal. - YouTube / video embeds - none on the current home page. If a video is added later, YouTube will set its own cookies when the player loads.
4. Cookies Set On Your Device
This portal does not set any first-party cookies. The only cookies that may end up in your browser are set by the third parties listed in section 3 - in particular Adsterra, and the iframe game host when you press Play. Clearing your browser's cookies for this domain is enough to remove the portal's footprint; clearing them for the third-party domains is a separate step handled by your browser settings.
5. Children
OVERD0SE is a mature psychological horror visual novel with content including blood, drugging, stalking, and obsessive behavior. This portal is not directed at children under the age of majority in their jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect any data from children, and we ask that minors do not use this site.
6. Changes To This Policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects the data we collect, the change will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date at the top. Material changes will be reflected in a banner on the home page for at least 30 days.
7. Contact
